SXSW is an amazing festival of tech, creativity and culture and its set in one of the coolest cities on earth, Austin, Texas. But most people who attend (myself included when I went in 2012) spend more time looking at their smartphones than at their surroundings. It's true at SXSW and it's true where you live to I imagine. Which is why we need more Anti-Texting Bears in the world. In fact, we need more people in general who don't mind dressing up like cuddly creatures to put smiles back on people's face. Those of you who know me know I'm not kidding :)
So this debuted at SXSW recently. It's called ADD52 - a music discovery platform for unsigned artists, created by hip hop moguls Russell Simmons and Steve Rifkind in partnership with Samsung. The idea is simple: For the next 52 weeks, they're on a mission to find 52 unsigned artists from all over the world and give them the fastest and most innovative platform to be discovered and signed. More at ADD52.com if you're interested in finally giving your musical dreams a shot.
