My Ride To Pandamonium. Hmm...

Start to Finish
Day 1 - 20km
Today marked day 1 of a new and rather odd challenge I've thrust upon myself. I call it the Ride To Pandamonium - a grueling challenge for the greater good, made entirely from willpower and vast amounts of tomfoolery.

THE CHALLENGE
I will attempt to ride a stationary gym bike the distance from The Virgin Active Melrose Arch in Joburg to Camps Bay beach in Cape Town - roughly 1413km. I rode 20km this morning, so only 1393km to go. Yikes!

THE TIME PERIOD
I'm giving myself 100 days to complete the task, which, given my hectic work schedule and severe lack of fitness should be just about enough time before I keel over. What's more, I also vow to ride the last 20km in a full panda suit! Those of you who know me, know I'm not kidding.

THE HELL AM I ON ABOUT?
Glad you asked. I was inspired by an online video I'd found earlier in the day where a creepy Indian dude "rode" his stationary gym bike across America. It took him a year to finish, which got me thinking, "Wow that guy kinda looks like Abed from Community..." and then, "Hey, I can do that. And I'll lose weight!" Then, after a supremely wonderful person gave me some amazing words of wisdom, let's call her Rocky for privacy reasons, I decided to not only ride for myself, but for others too. Which is where you lovely peeps come in.

Sponsor me for each km I ride and I'll donate all the money to charity when I'm done. If you're interested in getting involved, riding alongside me or simply suggesting some charities to donate to, pls mail me, leave a comment or hit me up on twitter. All my contact buttons are to the top right of this page.

Thanks for being awesome.

Bright Eyes. The Latest, Greatest Kickstarter Project. Hmm...

Some very, very clever friends of mine have created quite possibly the coolest specs known to man. They're filled with tons of programmale LEDs that pretty much blow people's minds the second they see them. I should know, considering I tried out the prototype at Burning Man this year and let's just say EVERYONE wanted a pair.

So let's allow everyone to get a pair, shall we? Hop onto the Bright Eyes Kickstarter Page and get behind this amazeballs project. For more on their company, Technology Will Save Us, click here.

Sony's Clever Stunt For Its New Waterproof Smartphone. Hmm...

Free sodas were handed out at the premiere of 007 Skyfall in Norway. During the previews a phone would ring. A phone that'd been submerged in soda in someone's cup. The lucky bugger who found the phone got to keep it. Clever stuff from CP+B.

The song? The Time They Are A Changing by Bob Dylan. Fitting, don't you think? Must have been a bitch to get right. Nice job.

How To Lose Weight By Riding Your Exercise Bike Across The Country. Hmm...

Pretty clever. Let's see, the distance between Jhb and Cape Town is only 1402 km. I might just try this out starting today.
