Frank Goes After Steve. Hmm...

videoYou may remember the Nando's vs Santam ad wars of late. Well, "ads going after ads" seems to be a bit of a trend. The clever peeps at Foxp2 just sent me this new and rather funny radio ad where their cheeky insurance client, Frank.net, takes on the Steve character from FNB's annoyingly and monstrously successful radio campaign. I gotta say it's spot on. I haven't wanted to kill an advertising character more in my life. Well, maybe Buddy from those kak Toyota ads. Frankly, I'd run him over in a Hilux. Again and again and again. But I digress. Hats off to The Foxes for what could be an interesting time in advertising. Let's see what, if anything, happens to Steve.

Hmm... Of The Day

Human Beings By Frank Lloyd Wright. Hmm...

“Human beings can be beautiful. If they are not beautiful it is entirely their own fault. It is what they do to themselves that makes them ugly. The longer I live the more beautiful life becomes. If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished. But if you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life.”

This Goes Out To Anyone Stuck In An Office. Hmm...

Get. Out. More.

Stride Gum Tries Epic. Hmm...

Giant Game Of Truth Or Dare In NYC. Hmm...

Copywriter Chelsea Davison think her fellow New Yorkers are a bit stiff so to encourage a bit of playfulness she staged a giant game of truth or dare in Washington Square Park. She left 300 cards around the park that asked people to answer “truth” questions via Twitter or perform often embarrassing “dares” in front of fellow park goers. Would you believe people actually took part? I love how even though the shit these people are doing is crazy, no one bats an eye in NYC. Wonder how this would play out in Jozi?

Dinner In The Sky. Hmm...

Dinners In The Sky are popping up everywhere it seems. From Beirut to Brussels, Vegas to Sydney, Monaco to even our very own Monte flippen Casino. What's it all about? Well, imagine you and 21 others enjoying a full on gourmet dining experience, seated around a massive dinner table, dangling 60 meters off the ground, complete with chefs, sommeliers and I'm hoping a good amount of vom bags. It keeps moving around but right now you can try it out at Ushaka Marine World in Durban and at Cedar Square in Joburg. Apparently you can also book it out for business meetings, weddings or anything you want really. Now I don't know about you, but I can't wait to give it a go. The only question I have is how do you go to the bathroom? Hmm...
