Daily Wanderings Around SXSW. Hmm...
So we decided to walk off the 7 billion calories and headed across the river to a rather quaint part of Austin. Here we have a shop that sells Mexican paper mache'.
I'm pretty sure the creepy owner has real skeletal versions of these in his basement. Where he lives with his grandmother.
Then we saw this, which I think is pretty normal in Texas. I was hoping cowgirls were sexier here. Oh well.
We spotted this awesome food truck. It's so good, they cater. FTW
Dinner was, well, insane. Just read some of these hot dog concoctions. Below you can see my buddy Daniel trying to eat THE NOTORIOUS P.I.G.
New Stuff From Funny Or DIe. Hmm...
The lines to get into yesterday's Funny Or Die talk at SXSW would have you think an Apple Store was opening or something. We were the last few to be let in before they closed the doors. We rushed in and somehow ended up sitting right in front. On the floor. But right in front. #Winning... or so we thought. Their panel included their head writer, marketing guy, their CEO and even their creative director yet somehow it was the dullest talk ever. They explained nothing about how they actually do what they do and even less about "The Future Of Comedy Online" - the actual topic for the day. It was all, "I'm so-and-so and I make funny shit." The only saving grace was this show they punted called Billy On The Street. I gotta say, it looks pretty awesome. They punted another show called FIrst Dates but since it hasn't been released yet, I can't show you a preview. Look out for it on Yahoo towards the end of this month apparently. Oh, Yahoo is a search engine, in case you're too young to remember when the Internet began. Good on them for wanting to appear relevant again. Talking relevance, the panel of meh from Funny Or DIe also announced their new iPad app: The Occasional. It looks pretty rad. Here's the front cover:
