I Hope This Walking Dead Promo Is Real. Hmm...
I want to believe this happened for realsies. I want to believe the YouTube description where it states it's all "part of a nationwide activation..." I want to believe it wasn't a cinema filled with agency people in the audience, briefed to react a certain way, who for some reason didn't notice cameras in the cinema filming them, I really do, because it would mean that some agencies aren't still pounding on with scam ads. Don't get me wrong. I'm no saint. I've done my share of scam. Heck, even an in-cinema campaign much like this one. You know, with a "real trailer" and a "real audience" who we "really trick" yada yada fishpaste... It even won an award or two. *sad pat on the back* As new ideas go, I'm sure you'll agree this is the furthest from one, but if it's real, if the client really bought the campaign, financed it and if it really did go nationwide instead of to a small cinema in Sandton City at 8:30am on a Wednesday or something, I have to give Ireland Davenport props for a job well done. But, something tells me there's something rotten going on here and it's not the zombie.
