If you're wondering what I'm on about, you probably havn't seen his 2008 movie Be Kind Rewind. Which, depending on who you talk to, is either a really good or bad thing. In any case, "sweding" refers to remaking classic films at breakneck speed on a low-tech video camera. Which he's done rather successfully here with a French version of Taxi Driver.
