Guitar Oscillations Captured With An iPhone 4. Hmm...
So this was accidentally discovered when testing what the view would be like from inside a guitar. Apparently the iPhone 4 camera uses a rolling shutter that scans each frame in lines, one after the other, so one side of the image is taken before the other. The guitar strings move so fast that they are in a new position as each scan line is captured, creating the wavy effect. Kinda makes me feel like a kitten staring at shiny keys or something.

A brilliantly simple idea that could change how we shop.
Pencil Shaving Art. Hmm...
Kyle Bean has, one could say, a strong waste not, want not art ethic. You may remember him from his "chickens made from egg shells" project from a few months ago. His latest idea is turning pencil shavings into portraits for the contributors page of Wallpaper*‘s 2011 Handmade issue. Pretty rad.
Why You Should Never Give A Chimpanzee An AK-47. Hmm...
Believe it or not, this is a viral for the new Planet of the Apes movie. It already has 8 million views on YouTube. And it doesn't mention the movie ever. Awesome.
