Soon you'll be able to walk the streets of Hackney listening to stories new and old thanks to a new app for the 2012 Olympic Games. With over 400 audio pieces avialable, you’ll discover interviews, features and archive recordings reflecting the layers of history and communities within Hackney, the main host borough of The London 2012 Olympics. Very cool idea. Every city should have one. After all, why waste such a rad app on Hackney?

How To ♥ Soweto. Hmm...
So my buddy Donovan David Goliath (true story) took some of us whities to Soweto today and holy crap was it a jol! We stuffed ourselves at the awesome Roots Restaurant & Gallery. Best shisa nyama ever! Then we hit the Thesis Social Jam Session where Donovan opened the night's entertainment with his very own style of stand-up comedy. Of course, he killed it. Of course, a great time was had by all. Of course, I'll be doing it again soon.
6 Directors Meet In A Hotel. Hmm...
The Hotel Casa Camper in Barcelona invited six different directors to come to their hotel and each make a different short film. They had 24 hours to create their opus and the results were stitched together into this trailer. Pretty rad idea. A little Four Rooms, but still...
Friends, Live Music And A 1920's Police Station. Hmm...
The place? Saartjie Se Garage, a little house in Melville with the remains of a 1920's police station, now a quaint stand-alone garage, tucked away in the back garden. The owner, a guy named De Waal, has turned it into an intimate live music venue for budding South African artists and last night a few of us got together to watch Laurie Levine, Dan Roberts and Lize Wild throw down some folk/country tunes. Something they do rather well.
