Democracy 27 April 1994 - 22 Nov 2011. Hmm...

I'm not going to harp on about how the SA Govt has doomed us all by passing its Secrecy Bill. There's enough of that going around. Instead, I'd like to focus on a positive:

Here's to Democracy. To humanity. To fairness and equality, freedom of speech and of the press. To a Constitution marveled the world over. To what people called "the new South Africa." To 17 years of freedom the likes few have ever experienced. To Nelson Mandela and Bishop Tutu. To everyone with a hand in ending the evils of Apartheid. To opportunity and progress. To dreams and the freedom to see them through no matter your gender, colour or creed. To the promise of an honest future for every child and a government of and, above all, for its people. You will be missed, never forgotten and hopefully put back in place one fine day when the cowards are all gone.
