Whopperlust. Hmm...

In its final campaign for Burger King, Crispin Porter + Bogusky have tapped into America's obsession with the Whopper once again. This time, with a cable channel where all there is to watch is, well, a Whopper spinning around a flame grill. If you stare at the Whopper for 5 minutes you get a free Whopper. If you stare at it for 10 minutes you get 2 free Whoppers... How? Random alerts pop up and different intervals asking you to select them with your cable TV remote. As you do so, you win. Ridiculous? Maybe but according to news reports, so far Americans have stared for over 300,000 minutes. If viewership continues at this pace, America will have stared at a spinning Whopper for 13,500 hours (810,000 minutes) before the weekend rolls around. I don't know whether to be impressed or worried about that. Either way, CPB I take my hat off to you. Your work for BK over the past 7 years has been inspiring. Pity they no longer see it that way.
