120 Seconds. Hmm...

So there's this unbelievably awesome blog I found recently called Friends We Love. They have a section on their site called 120 Seconds, which is all the time they give an artist, activist, musician, whomever... to fill with stories, advice, insights, thoughts or anything interesting for the world to hear. Such a cool idea. If you have the time, and you do, go there and have a look around. You may even go, "hmm..."

Hello Brooklyn. Hmm...

More like Hello Flippen Awesome! Jay-Z’s classic “Hello Brooklyn” just got better with a rad video by Greg Solenström. It's an incredible marriage of picture, text and music and if it doesn’t leave you looking for words to shoot across your favorite buildings in your city, watch it again, you're not looking hard enough.

Oh, and if you're interested, here's the making of:

The latest from Scare Tactics. Hmm...

For those of you who don't know the show Scare Tactics, it's basically Punked on acid. The idea is to scare the crap out of an innocent, sweet and seemingly effeminate guy (with the help of his best friends, of course) and then broadcast it around the world. Doesn't really make for good friends but it does make for a good laugh. Their most famous one has to be "Rat Monster." Enjoy.

Yes, I'll Have A Skinny Cappuccino From 1985 Please. Hmm...

I lived in Chicago many, many years ago, albeit for only a few months interning at Leo Burnett. It was super awesome. It was also radonkulously freezing. To this day I've never been so cold. But there were 6 of us living in our very own "MTV Real World-styled" house in Wicker Park, courtesy of Miami Ad School. And man, did we party up a storm. Back then the neighbourhood was only starting to become gentrified in an attempt to move it from an old Polish/Mexican barrio to one where young, trendy people would love to live. I guess they succeeded. They now have a coffee shop dedicated to the 80's with its very own Delorian in it. Great flippen Scott!

This Could Be The Start Of A Beautiful Weekend. Hmm...

Holy crappola, what a week. Deadlines. Recordings. Resignations... Nothing two days of massages, friend-filled lunches, beer, rugby, shopping, a Garrison Keillor podcast or two and looking spastic at the gym in bicycle shorts can't remedy. Here's to the weekend. It took you a while to get here but I'm glad you made it.
