How To Start An Ad Agency Today. Hmm...
When I was in Cannes a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to attend this awesome seminar where ad legends Chuck Porter and David Droga spoke about how they'd start an ad agency in this day and age. The video above is of Chuck Porter's presentation. It's brilliant. It's simple. It's funny. It's what you should watch and learn from whether you're in advertising or not.
Hmm... of the day
Yes, I'm a writer. Yes, I like words.
An Email That Made Me Go Hmm...
Today we were sent an email from upper management informing us of plans to move the agency to another building; somewhere between Rivonia and Dunkeld. They included a map and a few insights into how long it would take together with a list of "unknowns" that may or may not factor into us moving at all. Now, this is probably the fifth or sixth time in three years that we've received this type of email and all I could think about was this clip from one of my favourite films ever: Back To School. If you haven't seen it, stop being an idiot and go watch it. It'll add years to your life.
Freedom, Now Easier Than Ever. Hmm...
I just got the heads up about this from my good friend Jon in Cape Town and I had to share it with you immediately.
Okay, a little while ago I blogged about how it's suddenly legal to jailbreak your Apple device. Well, now not only is it legal, it's easier than ever before.
All you do is go here (http://www.jailbreakme.com/faq.html) using your device's web browser, follow the instructions and in about 2 minutes you'll be enjoying the freedom of a jailbroken iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. Lovely, lovely stuff.

Thanks to the weekend I've just had and the people I spent it with, I can attest to this. Happiness is indeed every-flippen-where.
