Today I leave for the French Riviera, the land of dreams, yachts and topless beaches. I'll be attending the Cannes International Advertising Festival care of my ad agency where I hope I don't throw too much of my name away, followed by a few days galavanting around Italy recovering from the madness. I know, hard life, right? Here's the thing, I'm exited to go but at the same time, I kinda want to stick around here. South Africa is feeling the best it has felt since most can probably remember. The spirit, the vibe, the warmth of our people chasing away the dreaded winter chills and replacing them with patriotic ones is simply mind-blowing. Right now is the greatest time to be in South Africa, to be a South African. We've shown the world and ourselves what's possible when we just stick together. Let's hope we can keep it going even after the World Cup. In the meantime, I'm off to be all fancy in France. And yes, I'll be sporting my Bafana jersey loud and proud when we play (and beat) France next week. Bon chance Bafana!
