A yummy morning. Hmm...
Whenever someone leaves the agency, we do a collection. Then we buy a gift, make a card and have a little send-off shindig. We have one today and I had to buy the gift. The only problem was, I arrived too early and almost everything was closed. Almost. Luckily, The Bread Basket was open.
I got to enjoy the new Esquire magazine, a yummy cappuccino and some hot brisket with pickles and mustard on rye. What? It's Friday, I'm Jewish and it was deliciously stereotypical of me.
As I was leaving, they brought out massive trays of just baked cookies. I couldn't resist and bought a box of goodness for people at the office.
Serg was most pleased.
Hmm... of the day
Despite what you've been told, there are enough hours in the day. You just have to wake up super early, especially now that it's winter. The kind of early when it feels like you’ve got the whole planet to yourself. No crowds. No cars. No work. Just a few cranky birds and the sound of your own footsteps. When the air is so cold and crisp, it cuts through your lungs like first breath and it tastes like it’s just been exhaled from the trees for you and you alone. When your mind stops living in the past and looks away from the future, allowing you to simply enjoy the moment you're in. When you realise these are the days. They always were. That kind of early.
