A way to deal with Joburg's potholes. Hmm...

 




If you can stencil, then you can help. The Urban Repair Squad has been stenciling around the many potholes in NYC, giving cyclists a heads up before they plant themselves into the asphalt. 

I love this idea and it's one we can definitely do and must do, 'cos the Jo'burg municipality sure isn't going to lift a finger!

Hello. Thought I'd share this with you. I scanned it out of an old Howies catalogue I found. 

For those of you who don't know, Howies is a flippen awesome clothing brand in the UK. Besides creating rad clothes, they encourage you to be earth-friendly, happy and even to head to their workshop in Cardigan Bay, Wales, where you can hang out, help out, even borrow some books (they trust you to return them). They'll also lend you a bicycle so you can check out the area! If you can't get out there, their store in London (Carnaby Street) has all you could ever want, including free water! Pretty cool, no?

Found this via Core77. It's the first mobile bookshelf, apparently. Why it exists, who knows? But I want one! It's just how I roll.

Wolves? hmm...

About a month ago, some really good people I know opened up a place called Wolves. It's the kind of happy place that should exist in every city really.  As you enter you're met with the glorious scent of freshly made flat whites, delicious cakes and sandwiches. Your eyes spasm at the tons of tzaztkas, thingamabobs, doohickies, design books, indie music CD's and best of all, your brain is left with the notion that Cape Town,and thank goodness, isn't the only place in South Africa with awesome coffee shops.
