Page 99. Hmm...
Apparently many people around the world use the page 99 rule before buying a book. The rule states that page 99 of any book will give you a perfect insight into the way it is written and how the story/content is shaping. Not sure if that's entirely true, but then again I've never tried it. So that's cool but what may be slightly better is the Page99Test website. It's designed to give aspiring writers an indication of whether people will enjoy their book or not. Just upload page 99 of your manuscript to the site, the public will read it along with all the others and then rate whether they'd buy the book. Now, all that said, the site is still getting it's shit together, so just give them your email address and they'll contact you when they go live. If anything, see it as a place to go have a quick read before bed, perhaps even on the crapper :) You could be reading the next Nick Hornby. Which is always a good thing.
